Why do you keep going back

to the mountains?

Askance she asked -

All mountains are same.

So what is it to discover

that you aim -

Is it finding God?

Or it for fortunes?

Is it some secret lover?

Or is it a stupid idea

of acquiring fame?

that you keep going

to the mountains

again and again.

I smile inwards in silence

as scores of images

pass through my mind

impressions from my past escapades

mountains and I.

I have lost pieces of my heart

and fragments of my soul

somewhere there.

I do not keep travelling back

for discovery.

I just keep going back

to feel whole and to reclaim.
