What is Curriculum of Ekattva Yogshala's Monsoon 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program?
Our monsoon 200-hour yoga teacher training program will offer a comprehensive curriculum covering various aspects of yoga including philosophy, anatomy, and correct alignment of postures. It will also focus on breathing techniques, meditation, and practical teaching experience.
Here’s a breakdown of the curriculum:
Religious ceremonies
At Ekattva Yogshala, we believe traditional Vedic ceremonies and mantras to be an essential part of the yogic experience. Our program includes Vedic Hawan ceremonies on the first and last days of training as well as ceremonies on significant Hindu calendar days to deepen spiritual practice. Additionally, participants will get a chance to attend the daily Ganga Aarti ceremonies along the Ganges River, where lamps are lit, hymns are chanted, and offerings are made.
Philosophy classes
During the interactive yoga philosophy sessions, students will get a chance to explore the principles and concepts of the Yogic way of life. These sessions cover topics such as Ayurveda, Patanjali Sutras, and Sri Bhagavad Gita, providing a deeper understanding of the guiding principles of Yogic living. Using real-life examples and open discussions, students will gain a better understanding of the practical application of these concepts.
Kriya, Pranayama, & Meditation classes
Ekattva Yogshala believes Kriya, Pranayama, & Meditation sessions to be critical components of the yogic experience. The reason why we have incorporated these in our monsoon 200-hour yoga teacher training program in Rishikesh. Beginning with purification kriyas and breathing exercises, students will prepare their minds and bodies for deeper practice.
They will then learn and practice 7 types of pranayama and 5 types of meditation to balance energy within the body, calm the mind, and facilitate spiritual growth.
Hatha Yoga classes
One of the major parts of our curriculum. During the Hatha yoga classes, our teachers will teach students 35-45 asanas from different categories such as supine, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and inversions. They will also learn to practice, align, adjust, and teach these asanas with variations, making themselves well-versed in Hatha Yoga.
Ashtanga Yoga classes
Our Hatha yoga sessions will then be followed by Ashtanga yoga classes during the monsoon 200-hour yoga teacher training program. During these, our teachers will follow a structured approach where they will tell students to start with a few asanas and gradually progress through the Ashtanga Primary Series.
They will also be taught to practice, align, adjust, and teach the series. Why? Because this will ensure that they have a solid foundation in the practice and can confidently teach it to others.
