Hatha Yoga Concepts taught in this TTC
Yoga Philosophy
Yoga philosophy is a profound system that encompasses a wide range of spiritual, moral, and ethical teachings. At its core, yoga philosophy seeks to guide individuals towards self-realization, inner peace, and harmony with the world around them. Through practices such as meditation, breath control, and ethical living, yoga philosophy provides a framework for leading a meaningful and fulfilling life. In this module we explore themes such as compassion, mindfulness, and interconnectedness, through Patanjali Yoga Sutras to gain valuable insights that can enrich their personal growth and overall well-being.
Human Anatomy & Physiology
Understanding of human bodily systems - the muscular system, skeletal system & joints, circulatory system, hormonal system, digestive and respiratory system - is delivered in these sessions. Using a mix of practical, theory, audio visual aids, and discussions, the students are made aware of the amazing human body and how to care for it.
Asana
Hatha Asana is a fundamental aspect of yoga practice, encompassing a wide range of physical postures that aim to align and calm the body, mind, and spirit. Through a combination of breathing techniques and various poses, Hatha Asana seeks to achieve balance, flexibility, and strength. Practitioners often find that regular practice of Hatha Asana not only improves physical health but also fosters mental clarity and a sense of inner peace.
Shatkarma
Shatkarma refers to the six purification techniques in Hatha Yoga. These practices are designed to cleanse the body and mind, preparing them for the deeper practice of yoga. Shatkarma includes practices such as neti (nasal cleansing), dhauti (cleansing of the digestive tract), and kapalabhati (energizing breathing technique). By incorporating shatkarma into your yoga practice, you can experience improved physical health, mental clarity, and spiritual growth.
Pranayama
Pranayama is a fundamental aspect of yoga practice, focusing on breath control to enhance the flow of prana, or life force, within the body. Through specific breathing techniques, pranayama aims to calm the mind, increase mental clarity, and vitalize the body. Regular practice of pranayama has been shown to reduce stress, improve respiratory function, and promote overall well-being. By incorporating pranayama into your Hatha flow yoga routine, you can deepen your practice and cultivate a greater sense of inner peace and balance.
Mudras
Mudras are symbolic hand gestures that play a significant role in yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda. These subtle movements guide the flow of energy in the body and help channel your body's vital forces. By practicing mudras, one can create a deeper connection between the mind and body, aiding in concentration, relaxation, and overall well-being. Each mudra taught at our Hatha yoga teacher training course holds a unique meaning and purpose, making them a powerful tool for self-healing and spiritual growth.
Bandhas
Bandhas are energetic locks used in yoga to control the flow of prana, or life force, within the body. There are three main bandhas: Mula Bandha, located at the pelvic floor; Uddiyana Bandha, located at the navel center; and Jalandhara Bandha, located at the throat. When engaged correctly, bandhas help to redirect and conserve energy, deepen one's practice, and stimulate the internal organs. Incorporating bandhas into Hatha yoga practice can enhance awareness, stability, and alignment, leading to a more profound experience on and off the mat.
Dhyana
Samadhi is the ultimate goal of yoga, representing a state of deep meditation where the practitioner experiences complete oneness with the universe. It is a state of profound spiritual significance, where the mind is fully absorbed and transcends the physical realm. Through dedicated practice and unwavering focus, one can attain samadhi and realize the true nature of the self. This state of profound consciousness brings liberation, inner peace, and a profound sense of unity with all existence. Exploration of different meditation techniques is undertaken in this hatha yoga flow TTC module.
